The Nature of Our Service
Palate acts as a luxury wine experience curator and concierge. We connect discerning clients with third-party wine estates, restaurants, and transport providers. While we meticulously vet our partners, Palate does not own or manufacture the wine or operate the physical estates visited.
Age Requirements
& Family Participation

Alcohol Consumption: In strict accordance with the South African National Liquor Act, only guests aged 18 years or older may consume or purchase alcohol. We reserve the right to request valid government-issued identification at any time.

Minors: We take pride in curating family-friendly experiences. Children and minors are welcome to join our tours under the constant supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

Alternative Provisions: For our younger guests, we coordinate with our partner estates to provide non-alcoholic pairings (such as artisanal grape juices or specialized pairings) to ensure an inclusive experience for the whole family.
Booking and Payment

Reservations: A booking is only confirmed once a deposit or full payment (as specified at checkout) has been received.

Pricing: All prices are quoted in ZAR, USD or EUR. We reserve the right to adjust pricing based on seasonal availability or third-party estate increases.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
High-end experiences require significant preparation. Our policy is as follows:

Cancellations > 14 days prior: Full refund minus a [10%] administrative fee.

Cancellations 7–14 days prior: [50%] refund.

Cancellations < 7 days prior: No refund will be issued.

No-Shows: If a client is late by more than 30 minutes without notice, the booking may be forfeited without a refund.
Health, Safety, and Conduct

Intoxication: We promote responsible drinking. Our partners and guides reserve the right to refuse service to any guest who appears intoxicated or whose behavior is disruptive.

Allergies: Guests must notify us of any dietary requirements or allergies at least 48 hours before the experience.
Data Protection (POPIA)
In compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa, we are committed to protecting your privacy. We only collect data necessary to facilitate your booking and will never sell your information to third parties.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
Liability Waiver
By booking an experience, the client acknowledges that participation is at their own risk. Palshall not be held liable for:

Personal injury or illness occurring at third-party estates.

Loss or damage to personal property during the tour.

Changes in estate availability due to private events or weather.
